• 66% of collectors are female


• 59% work part-time or full-time


• 18% are retired


• 8% are enrolled in college


• The average age of collectors is 44


• 27% consider collecting to be their favorite pastime


• 30% got interested in antiquing through a family member


• 43% say collecting is part of the fun of vacationing & travel


• 49% consider their collections to be an investment


• 26% have found great stuff on the curb or in a trash bin
